With
changing demands and the I.T. savvy scenario specifically
in the education sector, TLS has planned to have some E-Books
library collections by being an authorized agent for Taylor
and Francis & Ebrary. Taylor and Francis is offering
around 7000 E-Books while ebrary has got close to 60,000
E-Books collection, which are comprising of subjects varying
from Law to Medicine, Psychology to Engineering etc, almost
every subject what a customer would look for.
E- Books are electronic
versions of books, which are delivered to consumers in digital
formats. These books are called "electronic" because
they are files that you access on your computer. E-books
are available in any genre, any length, and many formats.
There are a large number of devices being developed to make
reading E-Books easier for consumers.
E- Books are quickly becoming
an important alternative to paper books.E-Books have many
features that traditional paper books do not - you have
the freedom to control the look and feel of your E-Book,
add annotations in your E-Book with Microsoft Reader, add
your own bookmarks with Adobe Reader, carry your eBooks
anywhere with on your PDA ... the list goes on and on.
There are many people who
find reading print books uncomfortable, inconvenient or
even unhealthy. Due to the paper dust, people with dust
allergies find E-Books a blessing. Students who are tired
of lugging heavy weights of textbooks (which become obsolete
quickly) and consumers or business people who travel a great
deal are two groups who seem thrilled with the idea of downloading
10 or more books into a small, portable reader. E-Books
are already starting to be trendy. Hopefully, one day school
children will have electronic textbooks so they won't need
heavy backpacks that damage their spines.
E-Books can be accessed
anywhere, anytime you need them. No need to carry loads
of books to colleges/Institutions.
